West Pharmaceutical Services (West Pharma) is a global pharmaceutical technology company with headquarters in Lionville, Pennsylvania. They have had a presence in Cornwall since 1968 and now have facilities at St. Austell and Bodmin where they manufacture and supply medical devices and pharmaceutical systems for the medical industry worldwide.

Most of West Pharma's 450 staff in Cornwall have been employed locally. "95% are from Cornwall and as a general rule they have been working for the company for many years," says the recently appointed Director of Operations for Cornwall, Gerry Brame. "Of the 5% who have been brought in from outside the area, most have been attracted by the prospects within the company and the more relaxed Cornish lifestyle."

As part of a worldwide group, West Pharma's client list is also global. Their success can be measured by the fact that each day, around the world, more than 74 million West Pharma products are consumed.
