IoD launches South West England Entrepreneur of the Year Award
The Institute of Directors (IoD) South West is today launching the South West England Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2007, created to recognise and celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs in the region.
Over 50% of IoD members have set up their own business which means the IoD is the UK's leading business organisation for entrepreneurs. IoD members operate in a whole variety of sectors to deliver success for their business and for the wider South West economy.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is sponsored by South West England and is open to entrepreneurs, business owners, and directors (whether IoD members or not) from any company based within the South West region. Entries are welcome from both established and start-up entrepreneurs.
Three entrepreneurs will be announced as finalists and their companies showcased at the IoD Evening with Entrepreneurs Event to take place on Thursday 3 May 2007 at the Marriott Royal Hotel in Bristol.
One of the three finalists will be chosen as overall winner and will receive a prize of a place on the IoD Diploma in Company Direction Programme, worth in excess of £6,000 and generously sponsored by the South West of England Regional Development Agency.
For the IoD South West Evening with Entrepreneurs Event we have secured two significant and inspirational UK entrepreneurs as guest speakers over dinner - Al Gosling, CEO of the Extreme Group and Sahar Hashemi, founder of Coffee Republic. The Dinner is sponsored by South West England, Solomon Hare Accountants and the University of Exeter. Ttickets are available for individuals or corporate tables at a cost of £65 per head.
