Young Cornish Entrepreneurs Win National Competition
Timeless Muffin Wax, the Young Enterprise Company from Newquay's Tretherras School, were crowned the national champions of the Young Enterprise HSBC Company of the Year competition at London's Savoy Hotel on 18th July. The youngsters triumphed over a field of thousands of UK Young Enterprise companies who participated in this annual event. They return to Cornwall with a cheque for £1000 and the opportunity of an all expenses paid trip to Interlaken in Switzerland where they will represent the United Kingdom at the International Finals of Junior Achievement, Europe, in mid August.

This is the first year that the South West Region of Young Enterprise have ever won the National finals. The 5 core presenting students were accompanied over the 3 days of the competition by Jez Orrell, their Link Teacher and Rebecca Wilton, MD of Aztec Recruitment and their Business Adviser who are all said to be bursting with pride.
Nicky Luke, The development officer for Young Enterprise Cornwall told us "They were fantastically confident on stage for their presentation, despite being the youngest group. Their Trade stand which they have worked on in association with the University College Falmouth looked incredibly professional and attracted lots of attention. Many people and businesses have helped them to become the best possible company they could be, so I would like to thank them all for their input which has been very gratefully received."
