Cornwall Pure Business Teams Up With The Hub To Celebrate Cornish Business

Proof that Cornwall's business community is alive and well was demonstrated at the packed out 'I'm Glad I came to Cornwall Club' event at St Michael's Hotel & Spa in Falmouth on Thursday 24th April, sponsored by Coodes.

Celebrating business in Cornwall as part of Cornwall Business Week, Cornwall Pure Business and the entrepreneurs' network, The Hub, teamed up to provide an exceptional networking evening for over 70 businesses.

Also in attendance were business support agencies, CUC and Unlocking Cornish Potential as well as other network representatives from the Chambers of Commerce, Business Leagues and Ecademy, who were able to provide business advice and guidance where needed.  The event also provided a great opportunity for some of the county's new inward investors to meet more established Cornish businesses and share best practice as well as, in some instances, establish future working relationships.

Chris Phillips, Commercial Manager for Lloyds TSB, addressed the 80 plus audience with a short talk on 'The Art of Networking'.  Chris explains: "Cornwall's businesses have access to a plethora of fantastic business networks.  However, many people feel anxious and afraid about networking, and aren't sure how to get the most out of these networks and events.  Hopefully, today has provided businesses with a good starting point, and given them some helpful hints and tips.  Despite the doom and gloom in the media, today's event demonstrates how business is thriving in the county."

Allison Bunney, head of Commercial Property at Coodes added: "I'm Glad I Came to Cornwall Club provides a great opportunity for business in the county to find new ways to network.  It was encouraging to see such a range of businesses from the design, IT, architecture, environmental and medical sectors, as well as professional services, all under the same roof reflecting our vibrant business community.  There is a real appetite in the county for innovation and growth, which we actively support."
