Relocator Workshops
July 2008 saw the Cornwall Pure Business team come to London and run two events for potential relocators as part of the "I'd Rather be in Cornwall Club" series.
For the first time, relocator workshops were held in the afternoon, providing businesses interested in making the move to Cornwall with the opportunity to speak face to face with business and financial advisors, a property consultant and a graduate recruitment service.
The workshops were designed to provide businesses with the opportunity to bring their business plans and talk through their relocation thoughts in detail.
Ten businesses, from a variety of sectors including IT & Media, Creative and environmental technology took up the offer of free advice.
Lucy Hunt, Inward Investment Manager explains: "Many businesses looking to relocate have similar issues, whether it be property concerns, seeking financial support or just advice on how to launch their business in the county. The workshops provided the businesses with the opportunities to have their queries answered and meet with relevant support organisations or private sector businesses one-to-one. A lot of business was done and feed back has already revealed that businesses that attended are now feeling more confident about making the move to Cornwall."
As well as meeting with the Cornwall Pure Business team, businesses were given individual 10-15 minutes slots with the following advisors:
Peter Castell - Business Development Manager
Combined Universities in Cornwall
Allyson Glover - Project Manager
Unlocking Cornish Potential
Nick McBreen - Independent Financial Advisor
Worldwide Financial Planning
Greg Oldrieve - Managing Director
Vickery Holman Commercial Property Consultants
Hannah Revell - Business Broker
West Cornwall Business Network
